I'm guessing now that #nato and #sweden begin to sense I've been accurately describing the current and historical state of #mi5 and its part in #russia's recent and increasingly #totalitarian emboldenment.

The problem is that the #security #orthodoxies which hold sway in the #uk more widely — but particularly in the aforementioned organisation — coincide quite firmly with the approaches that #totalitarians like #russiasputin and #china's #communistparty prefer to employ:

1. The #totalsurveillance #digital #panopticon [ gb2earth.com/pgtps/space ] to the exclusion of any other complementary approaches that would firm up the manifest weaknesses now being exhibited by this #panopticon (9/11, #putinsrussia, #hamas, and so on [ gb2earth.com/primacy ]).

2. The #surveillancetech #software and #hardware architectures I've been increasingly critiquing in evidence-based ways, which inhibit and ultimately cripple our ability to think as creatively as #extreme #criminality.

We have, as a result, collectively slid into emulating and deepening our dependencies on #authoritarian ways of assessing and framing the planet and its geopolitics. We have done what #billgates — probably apocryphally, but usefully all the same — warned us against: becoming like our competition.

We need to change. And this must start to happen in the next few months.

But it can no longer succeed from the #uk, and probably not from #ireland either. Or at least … not primarily.

I do need help: this is clear. And this help must come from #military cultures like #sweden, as well as a wider #european sensibility clearly beginning to coalesce round nation-states such as #czechia and #poland.

I tried for twenty years in my own country to get buy-in for the #human: but without success. For #britain is ruled by #influence not by #democracy (never mind a #representative one) — and this will always be the case.

I need different spaces now: ones which truly value the collective good, when fiercely built out of an overwhelmingly individual bodily autonomy and sovereignty. Habeas corpus and the presumption of a collectively located, societal innocence to the max for example.

Here I mean, sincerely wanting to do things as much as possible by the book. And strategising proactively, vigorously, robustly, and resiliently to achieve such goals [ www.secrecy.plus/law / legalallways.com ]

I found these impulses last year in #stockholm #sweden. I see no chance of my projects prospering under the #mi5s of this world here in the #uk. In fact, these impulses do not exist anywhere here in a #security context.

For the aforementioned #mi5s emphatically do enable #putin's kinds of #criminals.

And why do they do this? Because the alternative would be to begin to question whether #totalsurveillance and #machineprimacy are actually what they're cracked up to be: actually able to truly justify the bottom lines and massively protected funding budgets pumped incessantly into their never-quite-delivering promise. Because if they were what they assure us they are, #hamas wouldn't have spent a year or so, able, under the noses of the most #machine-#surveilled region on the planet, to locate 2000 missiles in residential locations. And then dispense with so many lives on one day as it did with this awfully #humanly imagineered set of missile-riven tactics.

That's what an exclusive reliance on a #machineprimacy — in this case, wilfully so by part of #israel's #security apparatus — delivered recently. (I say by only part because another, much more wily, #humanprimacy-favouring #israeli element of the same apparatus ensured that #extreme #criminality got a taste of its own always creative use of tools and devices with the #hezbollah #pagers' attacks.)

This is why I say an exclusive dependence on #machineprimacy will continue to fail us all, whilst the #mi5s of this world, surely literally in cahoots with #security #bigtech, will persist in negating the virtues of a #human #creativity unleashed (rather than automated out of existence) by the virtuous #machine [ gb2earth.com/terrorism | www.secrecy.plus/hmagi | gb2earth.com/hmagi ]. Until, that is, we finally realise that evil #extreme #human #criminality will never be defeated without a powerfully #machine-SUPPORTED #human #crimefighting counterweight.

Precisely, then, what the slide-deck on this blog above begins to sketch out. Just this.

Time for deep change: in my life at least I’m certain.

And time I finally found my place in #norden, alongside those sharply honest and self-questioning, metacognitively intelligent and wise others in #europe and beyond, who understand me all too well across both geographical and intellectual boundaries, outwith the ego-driven #authoritarian instincts and dogmas my homeland only knows too well.

Why?

Easy. That’s the easiest argument of all.

So that we can choose to start to imagineer and engineer and create and assure a different future for #western-style #democracies to the ones the #totalitarians, and their #authoritarian cousins in #western #security & #bigtech too, are currently so successfully assigning us all.

You’ll reproach me for it, I’m sure. “Life is complex,” you’ll say. “Life is unpredictable. Life and war security are just security and war and life. Collateral and error are things of the human condition, after all.”

Yep. True. But #mi5 and #bigtech never want for a budget when they fail.

Like managerialists of the worst, when failure affronts them they throw more of the same at the problem. How about we don’t any more? How about, instead, we join #human and #machine in quite different ways? How about that, dear friends? How about we — finally! — do?
